Membership

Professional membership in the Maine Local Government Human Resources Association (MLGHRA) is open to any city, town, or county employee in the State of Maine who is responsible for administering the human resources function in his/her organization. This includes human resources professionals and/or town management who handle personnel management and their deputies or assistants. Membership is also open to any quasi-governmental employee or school department employee working in the human resources field.

Membership dues are $35.00 per fiscal year (July 1 to June 30). Members may participate on the MLGHRA email listserv, which is a valuable tool for facilitating discussion and sharing best practices among those with similar questions, concerns, and interests. Members are also granted access to members-only resources on the website. MLGHRA offers multiple professional development opportunities on timely topics each year, including four hour-long trainings and two comprehensive workshops. Members are welcome to attend meetings of the MLGHRA Executive Board to ask questions and share ideas. Individuals who are committed to sharing their time, expertise, and talents with other members are strongly encouraged to consider participating on various MLGHRA committees or to serve on the Executive Board in an Officer or Director At-Large capacity.

MLGHRA has been an invaluable resource for empowering HR professionals across the state – from Kittery to Madawaska. We hope to continue expanding and growing in ways that will add meaningful value to our current and future members.
